Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) is available to workers who lose their jobs or whose hours of work and wages are reduced as a result of increased imports. Only former workers of certain "certified" employers qualify for this program.
Workers under this program may be eligible for training, a job search allowance, a relocation allowance, and other reemployment services. In addition, weekly trade readjustment allowances (TRA) may be payable to eligible workers following their exhaustion of unemployment insurance benefits.
Glossary:
Exhaustion – This results when all of the benefits for which you are eligible have been paid.
Benefits – The monetary amount paid to an unemployed or partially unemployed worker.
