MISSION: The mission of the Department of Employment is to provide information and quality services that promote economic security, fair employment, and safe work environments for our customers.

OVERVIEW: The Wyoming Department of Employment is a combined state/federally-funded agency of the state of Wyoming, headed by a Department Director who is appointed by the Governor. The Director, in turn, appoints the division administrators. All other positions are covered by the State of Wyoming Personnel Rules and applicable State Statutes.

Effective July 1, 2002, employment and training programs that existed under the Department of Employment were transferred to the Department of Workforce Services. These transfers include:

Others were consolidated, like the Office of Labor Standards, which is now part of the Administration and Support Division. Occupational Health and Safety (Wyoming Workers' Safety) is now part of the Workers' Safety and Compensation Division.
