Workers' Compensation System Customer Service

The Division of Workers’ Safety and Compensation employs full-time personnel who specialize in providing an impartial personal point of contact, at no charge, for injured workers, employers, medical providers and other program participants needing assistance with claims information and problems arising from job related injuries and illnesses. Customer Service Representatives have current information on statute requirements for filing injury reports, applying for benefits, legislative changes or changes due to decisions made to Rules and Regulations, the Office of Administrative Hearings, Medical Commission, or the Supreme Court. The Customer Service Unit can also assist parties with general issues on current workers compensation claims.  For further information or assistance, contact the Customer Service Unit during business hours at (307) 777-5476, or via e-mail at AskMeWC@state.wy.us.


Customer Service can assist injured workers who:

  • Need general information
  • Need assistance with benefits not now being paid or not being paid on a timely basis
  • Need assistance with unpaid medical benefits
  • Need to make timely submission of written claims
  • Need information about procedures for filing for a hearing or an appeal
  • Have survivors entitled to benefits (fatal claims)
  • Need informal dispute resolution

Customer Service can assist employers who:

  • Need general information
  • Need to post workers' compensation notice
  • Need to provide required information to injured workers
  • Need to make timely submission of accident reports
  • Need assistance with death benefit requirements
  • Need informal dispute resolution
  • Need onsite visits for hands-on assistance or training

The Customer Service Unit cannot:

  • Recommend a physician or health care provider
  • Provide medical advice or give an opinion on a treatment provided
  • Provide legal advice nor give an opinion on a hearing order*
  • Represent an injured worker or employer as part of the hearing process*
  • Recommend an attorney to represent an injured worker or employer*

* Claimants who are represented by attorneys should direct all questions and concerns regarding their workers' compensation claims to their attorneys.
